British Science Week in Skylarks

This week is British Science Week. We began by reading a story called The Most Important Animal of All . When reading, we talked about how different animals bring different things to our environment and the world around us. As a class, we thought that bees were the most important. We labelled a diagram of a Honey Bee and found out lots of facts. Here are a few:

– Bees help new flowers to grow and help to produce a lot of the foods we eat.

– Bees have 5 eyes.

– Farmers like bees because they pollinate their crops and fruit trees.

– Their black and yellow stripes help them to blend in with the colours of flowers.
