LKS2 Topic Exit Point/DT – Chocolate Bread in the Rainforest!

To round off our learning of Rainforests and Chocolate, we have undertaken a chocolate bread making project. To begin with, we were given the task of designing a snack that we could make and eat whilst in the rainforest. We came up with all sorts of weird and wonderful original ideas! However, after a discussion about these ideas, we quickly started to realise that transporting, storing and making some of these would be difficult in tropical conditions. This encouraged us to create a more specific design brief and led us to redesigning our snack ideas. After re-evaluating our new designs to check they were suitable, we set about making our snacks.

To make our chocolate bread dough, we weighed, measured, sieved, poured, mixed, grated, kneaded, divided, and shaped it onto our sticks. To finish… we cooked our bread over a campfire!!!!
