Apologies to all of the maths fans out there, due to parent consultations I was unable to post yesterday’s problem so here is a double whammy!
Below them is a video explaining how the Bar Method can be used in school – we had quite a few questions about this at parents evening so I thought I would pop up an explanation.
Also, in case you were wondering – these problems are aimed at adults not the children! (Though some year 6 children could probably give them a go!)
Even though they are tricky, it can be really powerful for your children to see that you find things hard sometimes too and also to watch how you attack a problem like these. Knowing that adults find things tricky and have to persevere too can really help their self-confidence in maths.
