Woodpeckers – Reading

In reading, we have started our new book called: The Firework Maker’s Daughter. Before we started to read this book, we completed an observe, wonder and infer lesson to spark our imaginations about what might happen in the story. To observe, we used the front cover to write down all the things we could see. Here we also challenged ourselves by using word banks and thesauruses to create even better descriptions. To wonder, we used the front cover and the blurb to formulate questions we have about the story and finally, to infer, we tried to answer some of our wonder questions by using evidence from both the front cover and the blurb.
