The school subscribes to the Times Tables Rock Stars which is a carefully sequenced programme of times tables practice.
The focus of Times Tables Rock Stars is to:
– Support children to learn their times tables and the associated division facts
– Increase the speed of multiplication recall
– Improve accuracy of multiplication recall
TTRS has had a significant impact on the speed at which children can recall their times tables. Children are enjoying practising in ‘the garage’ as well as playing against others in a ‘festival’ or ‘arena’.
Your child has been/will be given a log in and password to access their account. This can be accessed via https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student or via the Times Tables Rock Stars app which is free to download on both Apple and Android devices. You can follow the parent guide from the Times Table Rock Stars team which outlines the different ways Times Tables Rock Stars can be used.
Please continue to encourage your children to use this programme alongside other strategies you may currently use.
Doing just 5 minutes a day on Times Tables Rock Stars is all that is needed! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
