What does it mean to be British? Apparently, according to Kingfishers, drinking tea, eating fish and chips, roast dinners, Monarchy, football and discussing the weather. Pupils decided how they would like to present their ideas. Some chose art, writing poems/raps or drama.

Our topic this half term is ‘We Are What We Eat.’ As part of our topic work, we are learning about where our food comes from. Kingfishers make bruschetta. | 08 May 2024

On Friday, all of the children in Kingfishers made bruschetta. Using the bridge technique to chop the the tomatoes they mixed them together with chives, white wine vinegar, olive oil and salt and pepper. Once we had toasted the bread and rub it with garlic they served the tomatoes mixture on top.

Cool Clay in Skylarks – Part 2 | 02 May 2024

After leaving our clay pots to dry, it was time to paint them. We decided which secondary colour we would like them to be (green, orange or purple) and mixed primary colours to created these colours. We painted our dipping pots and can’t wait to use them! They look great!

This afternoon in Puffins, we have spent some time editing our diary entry drafts. In groups, we travelled round different stations, each of which encouraged us to focus on editing and improving different spelling, grammar and punctuation areas. Seen as the sun was shining today, we decided to take our learning outside!

Today in Puffins, we have been learning how to convert percentages to fractions and fractions to percentages. After learning the method, we had lots of fun with our partners playing the conversion game.
