Puffins become Archaeologists

As part of our Anglo Saxons topic this term, we have been learning about the mystery of Sutton Hoo. Today, we have become real life archaeologists. Firstly, we went out onto the banks and had to find artefacts that were hidden. Once we had found these, we had to write what we thought these artefacts were and who would have used them.

When we came back into the classroom, we found out that they were all artefacts that were found in the discovery at Sutton Hoo (apart from a couple of red herrings put in to trick us!). We learnt all about the amazing discovery and discussed the theories about who these artefacts belonged to and why they were found in that specific location. We then had a class debate about the Pros and Cons of using artefacts to find out about the past.
