Today in Topic, we have been learning all about how Ancient Greek discoveries and inventions have influenced the modern world. To begin with, we looked at some of the wider discoveries the Greeks made in science, maths, philosophy, sport, the arts and democracy. Then, we looked into some specific inventions. Here we took part in a quiz, trying to guess what some of the inventions were. Some were very obvious (catapults, waterwheels and toys), but some were less obvious, as they looked completely different to what those things look like/how they work in today’s world. After the quiz, we had a go at creating our own fact-files about Greek inventions. Here we used various books and the iPads to help us research more information to add to these.
