Parents

Our Privacy Notice is available on our Policies page.

We are committed to home school partnership. We welcome your involvement in your child’s education and in particular encourage you to take an active part in helping your child with their homework.

Please find lots of useful information for parents in our Parent Information Directory.

Parents are welcome to assist in the classroom on a regular basis if they feel they have the time to give. Help is required for a variety of purposes, including;
reading with children, telling stories, playing mathematical games, cooking, sewing, making resources, helping out on school trips and much more. A meeting for any interested parent helpers is held each Autumn term. We aim to make this an enjoyable experience for you and try to match your skills and interests with the needs of the teachers and children.

Parents are provided with specific information about their child’s curriculum half termly through knowledge organisers and information about pupil progress is given half termly through either pupil mentoring sessions, parent consultation meetings or the end of year school report. Home school diaries and planners are provided for parents to communicate with school and teachers are always happy to speak to parents at the end of the school day. Parent information events are held throughout the year and are advertised through the newsletter – ‘The Tranmere Times’. We also text and e-mail parents with relevant information as appropriate. See ‘home/school’ communication for more information.

An annual survey gathers parent views and all classes are represented at the monthly parent forum meeting, the minutes of which are published along with ‘The Tranmere Times’. We actively seek and act on parent feedback. If you would like to join our parent forum, please contact the school office or your child’s class teacher.

One of our school Pastoral Leads (Mr Joynson, Mr Learmonth or Mr Armstrong), is always available at the start of each school day to see without an appointment regarding any pastoral issues and the Headteachers are on the playground most mornings for an informal chat.

The school is active on Facebook and Twitter – like or follow us to receive updates!

If you have no time to spare during school hours then please do consider supporting our active PTA. All proceeds from events organised by the PTA directly benefit the school. The PTA meet regularly and always welcome new members.

‘Tranmere has teachers that understand you and you are always working at your level, you always feel challenged.’ Joe – Year 6
