In phonics this week we have learnt the new sound ‘oi – Noisy boiling water.’ If you would like to extend your child’s learning in this area see if they can draw any pictures or words with he oi sound.
Our book for the week is called ‘Jam tarts in the dark’. Please read the green words which have a focus of sounding out words with ‘ar’. In addition, we have learnt the new red words ‘there’ and ‘like’. As your child reads with you see if they can answer any of the key questions from the back of the book.
In English this week we re-told and wrote the story of Farmer Duck where we have focused on writing a simple sentence using capital letters and full stop. Please complete the sheet in your child’s book bag, encouraging them to use full stops, finger spaces and capital letters. As a challenge get them to re-read their work to check it makes sense.
