Herons – Sam the Sea Turtle

We have had a special visitor in Herons class this week. Introducing… Sam the Sea Turtle! We found out that our school are looking after him and keeping him safe. We managed to sneak in some cuddles with Sam. We learned that there are lots of animals in our oceans who are suffering because of plastic being thrown in our oceans and because of our climate and global warming. This means that lots of polar bears are also suffering as the ice is melting and they are losing their homes. We discussed how we can make a difference to save the animals. The children completed two activities: one was to design the perfect polar bear world and the other was to design a city which would survive a floor. The children came up with some brilliant ideas! Take a look at their brilliant work.
