Year 6 Take Over!

Posted on by suttonb

Doves and Kingfishers had a great time on Wednesday this week…they took over the school! ‘Oh, how you jest,’ I hear you think to yourself, perhaps a chuckle falling from your face…but, no! They really took over; every adult role in the school was covered by a member of Year 6. We had teacher year 6s…cook year 6s…caretaker year 6s…lollipop-people year 6s -have we got one of those? Well, if we have, a year 6 would have taken over the role on Wednesday.

The children planned all of their activities for the morning and really enjoyed their new found position in Team Tranmere. Some of them were quite surprised at just how much pressure they found themselves under, being in front of an unruly class of Falcons (the actual class – we didn’t also throw in the added hazard of genuine birds of prey for them to teach). One, Evan Holdsworth, was overheard afterwards explaining to a friend that: ‘I had no idea how hard Mr Sutton works…from this point henceforth, I shall endeavour to show him a new level of respect suited to the never-ending set of trials and tribulations that he is subject to on a daily basis, in pursuit of delivering children the world-class education that they deserve.’ Or something very like that.

Here are some pictures of the children dressed for work.
