Coding With Our Tale-Bot Pro in Bluebirds

This week in Bluebirds, we were introduced to a very special robot - The Tale-Bot Pro!

We have since spent the week tinkering and exploring to find out how it works.

With the support of our coloured magnetic tiles, we have been able to learn how to create simple codes by placing them in a sequence and then copying this into the robot to make it follow the same steps.

We have found it very exciting to test various different sequences and make changes when something didn’t work as expected. Tinkering in this way has also led us to discovering some additional buttons such as repeat, record and erase.

As well as the bit testing our problem-solving skills and understanding of how things work, it has also supported our communication and language and social skills, as we’ve navigated taking turns, sharing and distributing the actions to make it fair.

Our next steps are to begin to work towards achieving specific goals with the robot, such as coding it to move to a chosen place or reach a target.
