Skylarks First Moon Landing

Over the last few weeks, Skylarks class have been learning about the events of the First Moon Landing. To bring our learning to life, the children took their own steps on the moon's surface through role play. We used flour to imitate the surface of the moon and as the children stepped onto it, they said Neil Armstrong's famous words - "that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." The children took their roles very seriously (as did Mr Broadley) and said his famous words with great enthusiasm. We discussed how Neil Armstrong's footprints are still on the moon today as there is no wind on the moon. The children thoroughly enjoyed this fun (and slightly messy) experience!
