Topic - Geography

Herons class had a fantastic Geography Topic Day packed with exciting learning! The children explored atlases to study a map of the world, identifying the location and shape of the seven continents before using this knowledge to locate the five oceans. They then focused on the United Kingdom, identifying the four countries, their capital cities, key landmarks and the surrounding seas. Later in the day, the children explored weather forecasts and investigated the typical weather across different parts of the UK. Using their fantastic oracy skills, they confidently presented their own weather forecasts to the class. It was a brilliant day full of exploration, discussion and teamwork, with the children demonstrating excellent geographical knowledge and growing confidence throughout the day.
