Dulux/SSAT Smarter Spaces project

As Mrs Finley alluded to on Twitter this morning, I have been busy attending the initial training day for the Dulux/SSAT Smarter Spaces project.

This is a very exciting opportunity for us as a school to have the talented design team from Dulux work with us to redesign our ‘Whiting’ suite (Named in honour of Mrs Whiting who retired last year!) into a space custom built for learning collaboratively.

To make our dreams become reality, they are also providing a substantial amount of funding to bring the project to fruition. Once this is complete I will be working with SSAT on a research project to measure how effective our new space is.

A large part of this process is engaging older pupils in the design process and I look forward to finding out what exciting ideas they can bring to the table. (Or about tables!!) Watch this (soon to be smarter) space!

P.S. Sorry again to all of the year 4 parents who had their parent consultation slots moved to accommodate this training. When you see the finished product, I’m sure you will all agree it was worth the disruption!
