We have been made aware of a post which has been put out by EST (E-Safety Training) a company that works with a lot of children across the country. They have reported that children are receiving a high level of unsolicited contact. We are concerned about the use of this game and strongly urge all parents to discuss this matter with their own children where relevant.
The UK Safer Internet Centre have produced a guide for parents that highlights some of the risks from chat features within the game, particularly that there are no age restrictions on users or any system to prevent adults contacting children.
It is vital that children are aware of the risks involved when they are being contacted by strangers and that they feel they can discuss these with an adult openly. We are led to believe that the chat features in the game can be disabled if desired but that they are on by default.
