NSPCC Rocks

Tranmere,

IT’S BACK! The TTR competition is back! FOR ONE DAY ONLY! (Can you tell that I am more than a little excited about this?!) This time though, unlike maths week England, we won’t simply be competing against schools in England; this time it will be against schools the length and breadth of the entire British Isles!
How will we stack up? Will the Falcons top the table once again or will our league winners, the Doves, lead the way? Can one of our classes finish in the top 100? All of this will be decided next Friday (7/5/21). (Can you see why I was so excited now?)

The details:
– We are entered into a “friendly” competition involving schools around the UK for NSPCC Number Day on Friday the 7th May. It’s all done online via play.ttrockstars.com.
– For every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, your child will earn their class a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours). Winning classes in the school, and in the competition as a whole, will be the ones with the highest average.
-All game modes (Gig, Garage, Studio, etc.) will count but only from games played between 7AM and 7PM on Friday the 7th of May.
– If you could support your children (to the extent that it doesn’t cause high stress levels or impact on family plans) in this endeavour, we would be greatly appreciative and, in school, we will be allocating time in the day to engage with the competition.

Thanks for your support and let’s show the nation what we are made of,

Mr Learmonth
