So, as 2018 starts to come to a close, I started to look back onto all of the great sporting achievements that we have accomplished over 2018. It’s been a fantastic year for sport at Tranmere, with children participating in a range of different sports. We also achieved the School Games Mark Gold Award for the 2nd year running for our outstanding P.E curriculum and activities that we offer our children.
In terms of this academic year, we have already done so much!
A big thank you to everyone who has participated in any Cross Country races so far, looking forward to seeing some of you show off your skills at the Leeds Cross Country Finals in February.
Our Year 6 footballers have been fantastic, beating Roundhay to qualify for the next round of the cup and making it through to the Road to Wembley tournament at Leeds United’s training ground.
The Sports Hall Athletics team did amazingly this year, coming 3rd overall in the North West of Leeds and narrowly missing a place at the Leeds Finals (by 2 points!)
And finally, a huge well done to our Netball squad. They’ve played friendlies, as well as two league matches already. I’ll never forget our 26-2 victory! Let’s keep it up next year.
I also want to say a big thank you to all the parents and family members, as without you these sporting events wouldn’t be able to go ahead!
